ACCESSIBILITY.

All necessary modifications will be made to guarantee fluid access to and between all levels of the building, as required for the new usage.   

EXTERIOR PATIO.

The impost that runs horizontally above the third floor on the facades surrounding the exterior patio, serves as the height of reference at which to locate the glass roof in this area.   

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES.

Reception space.  The spaces and activities included in the Project as Reception Space and Customer Service for the Cultural Information Center, are located on the first and second floors of the former operations building, provided with adequate communication systems for this purpose. 

Complementary spaces.  A bookshop and a coffee shop and restaurant serving the multi-purpose reception space have been located close by, near the entrance.   

Cultural information center and conference center.  Four rooms are dedicated to audio-visual programmes, one seating 120 people, two seating 100, and the last seating 80.  These have been located on the second floor in the side building, with a direct connection to the Customer Service point of the Cultural Information Center, reception space and complementary areas located on the first and second floors of the operations building.   

Auditorium:  seating 300 people, the auditorium is located in the double height space on the second floor overlooking calle Montalbán, delimitated by the mezzanine that was built later and which today is retained as part of the third floor.   

COUNCIL CHAMBER AND OTHER TOWN HALL DEPARTMENTS.

Council chamber: the interiors of the successive architectural orders formed by the cavities on the different levels of the facades surrounding the Correos patio are transformed into containers in the form of cloisters in the new council chamber. 

Tiered parliamentary seating for 75 counsellors is arranged in a semi-circle, lowering the existing floor level.   

Institutional space:  the Mayor’s office is located on the second floor with direct access from Plaza de la Cibeles via the Y staircase, in the double height space that reaches the third floor, formerly the site of the chapel.  
Next to the office is a sitting room and bathroom, secretaries office and a reception room for 50 people.  

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES.

The offices have been located in what is called the side body, around the cloister patio of the council chamber on the third, fifth, sixth and seventh floors.
